Grand Story of the West Sterling Spoon Ring
One of the most fantastically ornate American west patterns I have ever come across, this pattern left no part of the spoon bare. At the top of the spoon handle, a cowboy sits atop a bucking bronco, the planes and mountains in the distance. Below, a Native American chief is framed in his shield, his bow and arrow peeking from beneath it. The remainder of the handle shows two crossing rifles, overlain with branches to represent peace. On the inside of this pattern, an American flag ripples in the wind.
A very rare pattern indeed, this piece makes a fantastic statement ring that sits wide on the hand, and is best in sizes 10 and larger.
Spoon Lore:
This sterling spoon ring was made from a Western pattern designed by the Watson Co. between 1890-1920
How it feels on your hand:
Made from a full size teaspoon, this pattern sits very wide on the hand with a nice weight. Lots of wonderful texture and detail on both sides of this pattern. A fantastically large statement ring!
Available in sizes 10 to 24 - Fourth and half sizes available as well. This pattern was photographed in size 10
*Please let me know what size you would like in the order notes. The spoon rings are not adjustable by hand. I size each ring before I ship out.*
Oh, If Spoons Could Talk
I love spoon jewelry. And I love hunting for the most beautiful spoons to make it! Spoon jewelry is a little wearable piece of history allowing the story and beauty of the pattern to be displayed and treasured, rather than being forgotten in a drawer or melted down as many of these antique beauties are.
All the pieces I make are from the original antique spoons - none are copies or casts - and I make each by hand, giving care and though to how each pattern is best shaped and displayed.
Using the original sterling silverware means each piece is not only beautiful in design, but full of indications that it has lived life. Maybe a faded monogram or little wear spots - I enjoy thinking about the places they have been and who might have held them 100 years ago. Each piece is, therefore, truly unique.
I have discovered more than one of some of these spoon patterns, so each piece will come with its own character and story, varying slightly on little wear spots and marks from the photo in the listing - There will not be two that are exactly the same, each piece is truly unique.
I hope the piece you choose resonates with your own story and will be a piece you treasure for generations.
