Lady Forge Brittany Swider

Hi! I’m LadyForge!

My name is Brittany, and I'm a silver lovin’ treasure hunter with a fondness for story-filled objects. My work is full of unusual, forgotten treasures, riddled with little dings, faded monograms, and lots of delightful patina; all whispering of a long life lived in another age. Life's a rough adventure filled with wonderful little stories, and I like my work to reflect that.

I love what I do. I love hunting for treasures, and I love the creative process of using those treasures to tell a story. It all started in 2012 when I was a silver-worker for a small jewelry company in Tulsa, OK while also dealing oddities and antiques on the side. I had dabbled in silver work and jewelry-making for a few years prior but had not committed to a creative journey thus far. I was fortunate enough to have a co-worker who was a fellow creative, and she encouraged me to pursue my own work. That’s when the collision happened between my love for both silver working and antiques, and Lady Forge was born. The name is a little head-nod to my silver working, while also having a deeper meaning. While I was the lady forging (or creating) the pieces, I was also the lady being forged in the process; discovering a little more of who I was and what I was capable of with each piece I created. The name is dear to me as Lady Forge has been such a big part of my life in every season since 2012.

Over the years, Lady Forge Jewelry has morphed, but my work is a true product of my creative process: telling stories with revived objects. Spoon rings have been popular for more than a century, but I love that I can always spot one of my own pieces. I put a little of myself into every Lady Forge creation, and it shows.

Today, I live in Michigan with my wonderful family and spend my days playing with spoons and making wearable stories.
