1888 Versailles Boar Hunter Sterling Spoon Ring

$345.00

The 1880s Versailles pattern was one of Gorham’s most famous patterns. A silverware set comprised of more than 12 different scenes from Greek mythology. The boar hunter is among the largest scenes from the set! This fantastically ornate pattern makes a very large, substantial ring. The largest ring in my collection! This little piece of history will sit wide on the hand and feel quite substantial. Best in size is 10 to 24!

Age: 1880 Versailles Boar Hunter by Gorham

Feel of the ring: very wide on the hand with a very substantial feel. A good amount of silver, this is the largest and most substantial ring in my collection.

Oh, If Spoons Could Talk

I love spoon rings. And I love hunting for the most beautiful spoons to make them! Spoon rings are a little wearable piece of history allowing the story to be shared and I love that these ornate beauties get to be enjoyed and not banished to some drawer for decades.

All The rings I make are from the original antique spoons - none are copies or casts. So each ring is not only beautiful in design, but full of indications that it has lived life. Maybe a faded monogram or little wear spots - I enjoy thinking about the places they have been and who might have held them 100 years ago. Each ring is, therefore, truly unique. I have discovered more than one of some of these spoon patterns, so each ring will come with its own character and story, varying slightly on little wear spots and marks - There will not be two that are the same! I put care into the creation of each ring. I put thought into how the ring should best be shaped to frame and display the design of the spoon.

I hope the ring you choose will be a piece you treasure for generations.
