The 1895 Mythologique silverware set by Gorham was comprised of 72 pieces sterling dinningware and within those 72 pieces, 24 stories are represented in fantastic detail. Mythological figures and scenes surrounded by classical ornamentation along the lengths of each piece.
The scene depicted here is the child Bacchus being held by his care-giver nymph.

Bacchas was said to embody happiness and mirth often associated with springtime and fruit. Often depictions with his handmaiden nymphs surrounding him in a frenzy of dance and revelry, Bacchas would grow to become to the god of wine, civilization, and would be known as a lawgiver and lover of peace.

Feel of the ring: medium feel spiral spoon ring with lots of smooth texture - comfortable on the hand.

Sizing options: 5 to 17

Size 11 in the photo. Smaller sizes will further overlap the spiral. And larger sizes will unwrap the spiral.

I love spoon rings. And I love hunting for the most beautiful spoons to make them! Spoon rings are a little wearable piece of history allowing the story to be shared and I love that these ornate beauties get to be enjoyed and not banished to some drawer for decades.

All The rings I make are from the original antique spoons - none are copies or casts. So each ring is not only beautiful in design, but full of indications that it has lived life. Maybe a faded monogram or little wear spots - I enjoy thinking about the places they have been and who might have held them 100 years ago. Each ring is, therefore, truly unique. I have discovered more than one of some of these spoon patterns, so each ring will come with its own character and story, varying slightly on little wear spots and marks - There will not be two that are the same! I put care into the creation of each ring. I put thought into how the ring should best be shaped to frame and display the design of the spoon.
