Hildesheim Rose Spoon Necklace (Version B)

$100.00

The Hildesheim Rose is a legendary wild rosebush that climbs the walls of the Cathedral of St. Mary in Hildesheim. It has symbolized the prosperity of the city for the last 1000 years. According to the legend, as long as the rosebush flourishes, Hildesheim will as well. Even when the cathedral was destroyed in WW II, the rosebush survived. Its roots remained intact beneath the rubble, and soon the bush was growing strong again.

Oh, If Spoons Could Talk

I love spoon jewelry. And I love hunting for the most beautiful spoons to make them! Spoon necklaces are a little wearable piece of history allowing the story to be shared and I love that these ornate beauties get to be enjoyed and not banished to some drawer for decades.

All the pieces I make are from the original antique spoons - none are copies or casts. So each ring or necklace is not only beautiful in design, but full of indications that it has lived life. Maybe a faded monogram or little wear spots - I enjoy thinking about the places they have been and who might have held them 100 years ago. Each piece is,

therefore, truly unique. I have discovered more than one of some of these spoon patterns, so each piece of jewelry will come with its own character and story, varying slightly on little wear spots and marks - There will not be two that are the same! I put care into the creation of each piece. I put thought into how the ring or necklace should best be shaped to frame and display the design of the spoon.

I hope the piece you choose will be a treasure for generations.
