1901 Mermaid Sterling Spoon Ring

$485.00

The rare Paye & Baker Mermaid designed in 1901.
Emerging from the waves, this languorous nude beauty sprawls the length of the spoon handle. Her tail weaves among waves and kelp, grazing the back of a sea monster.

Definitely one of the rarest treasures in the Lady Forge collection, the Paye and Baker Mermaid is very difficult to find and even harder to get your hands on. It always feels like holding along lost treasure whenever I am able to find one.

Feel of the ring: larger spiral spoonring, using the entire spoon handle to include all the details. In spite of the ornate design of this pattern, this ring is very smooth and comfortable on the hand, even in smaller sizes. While being a wider statement ring on the top of the hand, the underside of the ring is made up of the narrow part of the spoon handle and therefore allows for comfortable movement of the finger.

Sizing options: 5 to 14

Metal: Sterling

Oh, If Spoons Could Talk

I love spoon rings. And I love hunting for the most beautiful spoons to make them! Spoon rings are a little wearable piece of history allowing the story to be shared and I love that these ornate beauties get to be enjoyed and not banished to some drawer for decades.

All The rings I make are from the original antique spoons - none are copies or casts. So each ring is not only beautiful in design, but full of indications that it has lived life. Maybe a faded monogram or little wear spots - I enjoy thinking about the places they have been and who might have held them 100 years ago. Each ring is, therefore, truly unique. There will not be two that are the same. I put care into the creation of each ring. I put thought into how the ring should best be shaped to frame and display the design of the spoon.

I hope the ring you choose will be a piece you treasure for generations.
